Gas-assist allows plastic to move evenly and efficiently throughout a given mold. Gas- assisted molding greatly reduces sinks and molded-in stress, especially in parts that have thick-walls and/or flat surface areas with opposing ribs, post, or other engineered structures. Gas-assist also allows for lower molding pressures, thus extended the life of the tool as well as producing larger parts more economically and with much improved cosmetics.
