What We Do
SMI is one of the premiere plastic injection molders in the Western United States. We have been doing business in Clearfield, Utah since 1981 when we started out with 4 machines and a few dedicated employees. Today SMI has expanded to a 60,000 sq. ft. facility with 30+ machines ranging from 55 to 610 tons.
Plastic Injection Molding

As a Full Service Custom Injection Molder, we are a complete in-house tool fabrication and maintenance facility capable of rapid response repairs.
Staffed with experienced engineers and support staff, SMI Molding is able to take on all types of Plastic Engineering jobs, regardless of complexity.
Insert-Molding allows certain structural or aesthetic aspects of a plastic part to be inserted into the mold and the plastic will mold around the inserted part.
Gas assist molding for thick walled parts greatly reduces sinks and molded-in stress. With lower molding pressures, it is also more economical for large parts.
As a Single Source Supplier, SMI is able to provide added value operations like Hot Stamping of molded products, Turn-Key Assembly, as well as Packaging.
